Moreno was first approached while on the runway then fled in the car, which had been reported stolen in Tampa that night.

Moreno then led police on a chase as he crashed into a Coast Guard security gate. He exited the car and ran to a C-130 aircraft, making his way into the cockpit. Police caught up to him there and arrested him.

Among the charges levied at Moreno are grand theft auto, burglary, fleeing and eluding, being a habitual traffic offender, and two counts of criminal mischief. Moreno might also face federal charges.
