VA's quick start guide helps female vets access benefits and services

Are you a female veteran wondering how to apply for VA benefits and access health care?

There’s a guide for that.

The VA Women Veterans Quick Start Guide provides clear and concise information on how to apply for benefits and health care, schedule regular checkups, fill prescriptions and access specialists such as cardiologists, gynecologists and mental health providers, according to a blog post.

“Women are serving in greater numbers than ever before and because of that, we at VA have to be ready to serve them more than ever before,” said Acting Deputy VA Secretary Pamela Powers.

The new Quick Start Guide helps women veterans understand what documentation is needed and how to apply for VA benefits, along with a summary of health care services and resources including how to apply for VA healthcare, a full listing of health care services, a Center for Women Veterans, a VA Women Veterans Call Center 1-855-VA-WOMEN, and
