On this week’s edition of the Eye on Veterans podcast, we take a deeper look at the rapidly escalating war on Iran with former Ranger, Special Forces, and Connecting Vets writer Jack Murphy. We open with how veterans across the country feel about it, considering many have already endured wars in Afghanistan and Iraq.
Murphy discusses the resignation of Special Forces veteran Joe Kent, whose resignation from the National Counter Terrorism Center stirred up controversy last week, and highlighted what some view as antisemitic views woven within his letter of resignation.
Murphy also examines U.S. leadership from President Donald Trump’s decision to strike Iran to the effectiveness of fellow Army veteran, Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth.
And, we examine the stark and troubling contrast between Murphy’s memories of Iraq and what is unfolding in Iran today.
We also take a deeper look at the veteran influencers and podcasters who push stories of terrorist sleeper cells already within the U.S., and ask if fears of future attacks are warranted.
