The family of a Fort Worth man jailed in Moscow says they have been rebuffed in their request to meet with President Joe Biden during his visit to Texas on Tuesday.
Former U.S. Marine Trevor Reed’s parents are worried negotiations over their son's release from Russian prison will deteriorate because of the ongoing crisis in Ukraine.
They say they have also learned Reed is now battling a case of tuberculosis.
Joey and Paula Reed, who now live in Granbury, say their son called his Moscow attorneys to tell them he’s also running a fever. But there's no sign any progress is being made toward his release.

Reed has been behind bars for more than two years after a drunken altercation landed him in court where police claim he attacked an officer. He was sentenced to nine years.
The Reeds put in a request for a meeting with the President but they say they learned yesterday they had been turned down.
While in the Marine Corps during the Obama administration, Reed was part of a detail providing security at Camp David during times when then-Vice President Biden was staying at the Presidential retreat.
