NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — Fleet Week is back in New York City, with the ceremonial Parade of Ships starting off the 35th annual celebration on Wednesday.
The beloved event, which runs through Tuesday, coincides with the arrival of about 2,400 uniformed personnel in New York City.

Nine ships, including one from Italy, the United Kingdom and Canada, paraded into New York Harbor to kick off Wednesday the annual event, which includes public ship tours, ceremonies, and naval and military educational events.
This year's celebration will include full capacity activities after returning live last year following a two-year hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Visitors can board vessels for free at Piers 86, 88 and 90 in Manhattan (except on Sunday) and the Homeport Pier on Staten Island from 8 a.m. through 5 p.m.
Tours of the Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum at Pier 86, which is hosting a variety of events, are available everyday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
