The first Special Operations Forces Truth is that "humans are more important than hardware" which Special Operations Command takes from words to actions via the Special Operations Care Coalition which is there to care for injured and ill special ops soldiers.

A number of soldiers including Psychological Operations officer Capt. Timothy Bible offered testimonials about their experience with the Care Coalition. After a motorcycle accident, Bible had a leg amputated and he credits the Care Coalition with helping him return to his job six months after being released from Walter Reed.

"We take care of our people," said SOCOM commander Gen. Bryan Fenton during the event. "We believe in starting with the human in all our approaches, and the Care Coalition is critical to that mentality."

The quarterly 1st SOF Truth Forum was held in Tampa, Florida in late January this year bringing together over 400 attendees. First established in 2005, the Care Coalition is a Congressionally recognized Warrior Care Program that provides the SOF community with critical support when one of its members is seriously injured or ill.

"The SOF family and the SOCOM Care Coalition fought to be there for me when I needed it most,” Bible explained. "I said I wanted to stay in the military, stay in the fight, and go back to work; they supported me through everything."

Amongst other services, Recovery Care Coordinators (RCCs) help guide service members and their families through every stage of their comprehensive recovery plan ensuring they have all of the resources and treatments needed to heal.
