Entering its 17th year, VA’s National Veterans Summer Sports Clinic is a rehabilitative and educational hands-on sporting event for eligible veterans from across the country who have a range of disabilities to engage in an array of activities, including kayaking, surfing, sailing, cycling and adaptive fitness. Each sport will be tailored to meet the unique needs and abilities of the participating veterans.
Participation in the Summer Sports Clinic is not only a chance for veterans to engage in fun and challenging activities, it also offers a support network and sense of camaraderie that can be transformative. Veterans who have attended previous clinics rave about the positive impact it has had on their physical health and mental well-being, noting that the experience provides a renewed sense of purpose and community.
This event is not only a celebration of the resilience of veterans but also a testament to the power of adaptive sports. Reach out to your local VA medical center for assistance.
