After Luke Graziani, a U.S. Army veteran with four deployments to Iraq and Afghanistan, checked his email on February 13, he cringed when he read he was losing his public affairs officer job at The Bronx VA Hospital.
He shares how despite having stellar performance reviews from his supervisor, the letter from Elon Musk's Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) cited “job performance” as one of the reasons for his termination.
Graziani also describes how this move will force other VA staff who don’t work at the hospital to pick up the slack, and how there is still no official word on whether his supervisor's appeal for his exemption will be heard, or if he will ever return to work.
