Today, retired U.S. Army Maj. Gen. Barrye Price PhD, will be the featured speaker for the University of Maryland Global Campus’ Veterans Day Ceremony, beginning at 1 p.m.
Price currently serves as president and chief executive officer of the Community Anti-Drug Coalitions of America.
The ceremony recognizes our nation’s military veterans — including UMGC students, alumni, faculty, and staff who have worn the uniform of our country. Retired U.S. Navy Capt. Dr. Nicole DeRamus, PhD, assistant vice president for veterans programs in UMGC’s Department of Stateside Military Operations, will serve as master of ceremonies.

UMGC will also present the General John W. Vessey Student Veteran of the Year Award, an honor that recognizes a student veteran who has excelled in their military career while achieving their educational goals at UMGC. This year’s recipient is Marine Sgt. Dalton J. Berry, a native of Des Moines, IA, who grew up in Missouri.

Berry serves as a senior instructor with distinction for the Intelligence Surveillance Reconnaissance Systems Engineer Course at Marine Corps Detachment Goodfellow Air Force Base. His responsibilities include the ongoing enhancement of ISEC and the development of all course instructors, regardless of their seniority.
