The Sacramento Kings announced on Friday that General Manager Vlade Divac is stepping down from his role with the Kings organization, a position he has held since August 2015. Divac was originally brought into the Kings organization as Vice President of basketball and franchise operations in March 2015.
Special Adviser to the General Manager Joe Dumars has been named the team's interim general manager and vice president of basketball operations, the team said. Dumars will help in the search for a new, full-time general manager, according to FOX40.
Even after the 2020 NBA season was restarted, the Sacramento Kings lost their opportunity for a playoff position, marking 14 years without a playoff position, the longest postseason drought in history.
