Chiron Retrograde Could Make The Rest Of 2020 Even More Emotional

A phenomenon known as Chiron Retrograde could make the rest of 2020 even more of an emotional roller coaster. 

Chiron, which is an asteroid and a centaur (it has an "erratic" orbit, says Cosmopolitan), will go retrograde in Aries on July 11, 2020 at 2:09 p.m. PST here in Sacramento until December 13, 2020 at 7:37 p.m. PST when it goes direct.

In astrology, Chiron is known as the "wounded healer." This stems from the mythical story of Chiron who was a sensitive healer who could not heal himself. When the asteroid/centaur Chiron goes retrograde in the sign of Aries, this gives us the opportunity to "confront the feelings we've been pushing down instead of processing" (via Cosmo). All the emotions we've been bottling up inside will have a chance to breathe and be felt in the coming months so we can release them.

So what are we supposed to do during Chiron Retrograde to minimize these effects? Well, we're going to feel the feels for sure, but Forever Conscious suggests a few exercises we can follow to help process the emotions we're sure to experience.
  1. Ask yourself what is hurting you most right now, and what are 10 things that the pain has taught you?
  2. Jot down a list of 20 accomplishments you're proud of in your life so far. This can be regarding literally anything, whether material or spiritual. Analyze your list for strengths and growth that got you to that proud moment.

Chiron Retrograde also arrives on the tail end of the better-known Mercury Retrograde, which ends July 12, 2020.
