The oil heir John Gilbert Getty was discovered dead in a hotel room in a bizarre pose in front of his laptop.
According to the Daily Mail, the 52-year-old heir passed away November 20 in his San Antonio hotel room. He was discovered on the bed in a "criss-cross" sitting position in front of his laptop, with his eyes and mouth wide open and his glasses in his left hand. He was "cold to the touch" and wouldn't wake up.
A hotel employee entered his room when Getty failed to check out on time and was unreachable.
Authorities say there were no signs of foul play, as everything at the scene appeared "neat and orderly."
Getty had been staying at the hotel for about three weeks and, according to his assistant, was in the process of moving from California to San Antonio.
The police report refers to another individual as "NOK 01," whom the police contacted when they found his number under the conctact name "ICE" in Getty's phone. However, this individual claimed he hadn't spoken to Getty in years.
"Ice" is a street name for crystal meth.
His cause of death is still unclear and an autopsy has yet to take place.
