This Christmas song is ok, but the music video is hella creepy

Every year I'm reminded of the song "Christmas Shoes" by New Song, and it's a tradition of mine to get totally creeped out by a music video that someone made for it in film school.

This video has racked up more than 14 million views on YouTube over the years, and it's not even the official video for the song. It's simply a film school project, and because of that, it's very low budget.

First of all, I need to be VERY clear here that I am NOT criticizing the content of the song itself. I understand that it's about a boy who's buying shoes for his sick mother before she passes away. And I actually don't mind the song either; it's catchy and it always gets stuck in my head.

But it's this film project that totally creeps me out.

The man who's supposedly telling the story is the guy in the jacket and Adidas hat. I can't stand that he's chewing gum. Couldn't he have just.........NOT chewed gum during a film project? I don't know, I guess it's just like nails on a chalkboard for me. I can almost hear his gum-chewing and it annoys the hell out of me.

Also, I know this was filmed well before the days of social distancing but I cannot stand how close he's standing behind this little boy. It's completely invading his bubble space and the angle they got of him looking down at this little boy is almost stalker-like. Dude. Back up! Lol.

I also need to point out that the cashier looks completely apathetic about the little boy's story. It's almost as if he doesn't care as much as all of us do listening to this song, and that just sucks.

What do you think of this music video? Are you as passionate about it as I am? Probably not, but that's okay. Hahahaha

Watch it below and let me know what you think!
