Did you know that Christmas trees can be used as biofuel to generate electricity? Yep! That's why it's so great to recycle your Christmas tree. Sacramento County has shared a list of locations to drop of your tree on Saturday, January 9, and Sunday, January 10.
Here are the drop off locations:
- Kiefer Landfill, 12701 Kiefer Blvd., Sloughhouse
- January 9-10, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
- Facility fees apply for six or more trees
- North Area Recovery Station, 4450 Roseville Rd., North Highlands
- January 9-10, 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.
- Facility fees apply for six or more trees
- Elder Creek Recovery and Transfer, 8642 Elder Creek Rd., Sacramento
- January 9, 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.
- Sacramento Recycling and Transfer Station, 8491 Fruitridge Rd., Sacramento
- Accepting trees December 26-January 9, Monday-Saturday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
- Dan Russell Rodeo Arena, Rodeo Park, end of Stafford Street, Folsom
- January 9, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Flocked trees will be accepted but treated as garbage and sent to a landfill. Read more from Sac County here.
