A woman spent four years pretending to be the woman she killed until the truth was uncovered.

ABC 20/20 is featuring the story of 45-year-old Shanna Golyar on Friday, December 4, in which Golyar posed as her murder victim for four years through text messages, emails, and social media. Golyar is serving a life sentence for first degree murder after being convicted of killing 37-year-old Cari Farver, who was last seen in 2012 in Nebraska.

According to the Daily Mail, Golyar murdered Farver after finding out they had both been involved with the same man, her on-and-off lover, Dave Kroupa. Kroupa is labeled as Farver's ex-boyfriend, though they had only been together for two weeks before he received a breakup text from Farver's phone number.

For four years, Golyar stalked Kroupa and harassed Farver's family by pretending to be Farver.

Kroupa tells 20/20 (via Daily Mail) that he'd regularly receive 60 or more texts and 100 emails a day. He'd also receive "hundreds of hundreds" of phone calls, and he had to change his phone number "so many times."

To throw everyone off, Golyar would send self-harm messages Kroupa, and would send harassing messages to herself from Farver's account.

Many of the details are just so weird, wild, and bizarre. And finally, Golyar was discovered. Get the full story here
