On Oct. 12, 2012, Poston, a Fort Mitchell, Kentucky, attorney was shot and killed by his girlfriend Shayna Hubers. She was convicted following a widely publicized trial in 2015. In 2016 that conviction was appealed because one of her jurors was found to be a convicted felon and a new trial followed in 2018. She was convicted again.
