For years, I've been using translucent powder as a way to mattify my liquid foundation. I love going for the matte look because my face is naturally oily/dewy, so I love this because the powder literally soaks everything up and helps make my foundation look flawless as if it were a real-life filter that blurs out most imperfections.
If you use (or have used) translucent powder, you know how expensive it can get. It's so easy to go through each container quickly, and even though it's totally worth it, it can feel like money's going down the drain.
I started out with translucent powder from Dermablend and Mary Kay, but quickly switched to this e.l.f. Cosmetics HD Powder because the product is great and also WAY more affordable.
The powder comes in sheer, soft luminance (if you want a more dewy/shimmery look), and corrective yellow.
Each container is $6 and can last quite a while if you're conservative with the amount of product you use. I apply it with an e.l.f. Cosmetics kabuki brush.
I get my powder from Target (I also found the kabuki brush there), but you can check out more info about it on e.l.f.'s website here.
