The worlds of boating and camping collide with these floating campsites on Lake Oroville in Northern California, making for quite the unique camping experience.
For $125 per night, you can reserve one of these really cool houseboat hybrids that have a covered living area, sun deck with room for tents, restroom, lockable closet, camp table, sink, and propane BBQ grill. Think double-decker party raft. (Water isn't included, so you need to make sure to bring your own water.)
The 10 different campsites are scattered around Lake Oroville and fit up to 15 people including children. You can reserve these campsites from April through mid-October.
Lake Oroville takes around 2 hours to get to from Sacramento, give or take. Check out photos and get more info about the floating campsites here.
