In the middle of a California desert is a banana museum that just might top the list of quirky California things.
I came across the International Banana Museum on California.com's Instagram page and, needless to say, it caught my attention because the idea of a banana museum is just...bananas.
According to the caption in @hellocalifornia's post, the International Banana Museum features over 25,000 items that are related to bananas. Plus, they have a banana bar where they serve homemade banana ice cream and banana milkshakes.
It's quite a drive from Sacramento, but, if you're ever in SoCal, this might be a fun place to visit. Their listing on Google says they're temporarily closed right now, but definitely add this to your list of places to check out someday.
Check out their website for location and reopening updates here.
