Living in Northern California, you probably feel like you've done just about EVERYTHING anytime you've ever visited Lake Tahoe. But there are so many unique experiences that can make your trip different and exciting every time, including this one.
Only In Your State shared a story about this glass kayak tour by Wild Society, a kayak rental & tour company based in Kings Beach. Through Wild Society, you can rent the transparent kayaks or sign up for a guided tour with them.
According to Wild Society's website, each clear kayak is equipped with wireless waterproof speakers with USB plug-in so you can listen to your own tunes while you glide across Lake Tahoe's turquoise water. They also come with waterproof phone cases that allow you to take underwater photos, along with "dry bags," binoculars, goggles and snorkels, a small cooler, two cup holders, selfie sticks, and safety equipment. Keep in mind that some of these items are available by request only, so before you hit the water just be sure to ask about them. Also be prepared to bring or purchase your own snorkels and goggles in case they've changed their COVID-19 protocol with these items (their website does not specify if they decided to continue lending those out or not).
Wild Society even has a nighttime glow tour with colorful lights attached to the kayaks.
Check out their website for rental rates, policies, and additional information to plan your next trip to the lake here, and be sure to look at their Instagram for staycation inspo.
