There's only so much we want to plan for in the event that we die (like drawing up a will, for example). And a lot of us joke about clearing our browsing history before we croak...which leads me to a few things I learned we should set up technology-wise in case we die anytime soon.
I know, this is a dark topic and I hope we don't die soon. But I came across this New York Post article about technology things we should set up for death. I've actually heard about one of these things (the Facebook Memorialization) but I was unaware of the others.
1. Set a Legacy Contact for your Apple account (if you own an iPhone or Apple products). Designating a Legacy Contact gives this person access everything linked to your Apple ID if you die, like photos, messages, and notes. Set it up in "Password and Security" in your settings.
2. Update your Memorialization Settings on Facebook. Similar to the Apple Legacy Contact, you can designate a legacy contact for your Facebook account granting all access to this person. They can write posts for you, update your profile picture, etc.
3. Automatically clear your Google search history. You may want to do this anyway...lol. In your Google account's "Web & App Activity" settings, you can set it to auto-delete search history every three months.
