This is probably the most underrated and unknown National Park in the country, but it's right here in Northern California and has so much to explore.
My boyfriend's been trying to get me to go with him to Pinnacles National Park for a while now, and we finally had a weekend where it worked out to make the trip.
There's a lot to explore at Pinnacles, and our trip only scratched the surface. We climbed through caves and up to a manmade reservoir. The views were gorgeous, and the weather was absolutely perfect for this hike.
There's a campground onsite where you can stay in "tabins," park your RV, or set up a tent. We stayed in one of those "tabins," which you can read more about here.
Pinnacles is only about three hours south of Sacramento. Drive down 5 on your way towards Bakersfield but veer off through Hollister and down into the park.
