Your next staycation may be less than an hour from Sacramento, but still secluded enough to enjoy some time away from it all. Enter...The Villa Agave.
While I was trying to find something else on Google Maps, The Villa Agave popped up as a destination hidden away in Placerville. I'm so happy I found it because it's STUNNING and has some really great amenities that make a stay worth it, even for locals.
The Villa Agave is a luxury bed and breakfast that specializes in agave harvest and tequila tastings. The Spanish-style estate is secluded yet within just miles of various dining options, beer & wine tastings, historic experiences, and more in Placerville and Coloma. Think Apple Hill experience, but tequila is the focus.
Stay in one of the three suites and get treated to a mimosa breakfast, tequila tasting, Turkish cotton robes, in-room coffee and tea, and wireless internet. Or rent the entire villa for the ultimate retreat or family reunion.
Note: management advises not to bring pets or children under 13 years of age. Not that that matters, because I can't imagine bringing babies and kids to a tequila getaway. Lol.
