Woman discovers she has stage 4 cancer after trying viral TikTok beauty hack

While I think most people are divided over TikTok being helpful or a waste of time, I think we can all agree that this viral beauty hack proved to be one of the app's most positive contributions.

According to Daily Mail, a woman from Alabama says the Gua Sha trend (which obviously did not originate on TikTok) saved her life, because it helped her discover that she had stage 4 skin cancer.

In April 2022, she found a large lump under her skin while using a Gua Sha tool on her face. After consulting with doctors, she discovered she had 20 tumors throughout her body. Her prognosis was grim; she was giving six weeks to live.

Gua Sha is a 2,000-year-old practice from China involving scraping the skin with a flat tool. It's said to improve circulation, reduce swelling, and promote cell growth.
