It's officially cherry harvest season, and this activity lets you in behind-the-scenes to pick your own cherries to take home!

Borello Family Farms' U Pick is officially open, but this Sunday, June 18, is the last day to pick your cherries.

The process is pretty simple. You show up at whichever ranch you want (there are three open right now for cherry picking). Then, you pick cherries, pay for them, and take them home. There are strict rules you need to follow, but they're really not difficult to follow. (Find the rules here.)

Ranches are open daily from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., but may close early if all the fruit has been picked.

If you want the most available fruit to choose from, try to get to Ranch 5 on Thursday or Friday this week as early in the day as possible. I say this because Ranch 5 doesn't open for U Pick until June 15. It's located at 550 Monterey Road in Morgan Hill, California, which is about two and a half hours away from Sacramento.
