Billie Eilish’s hit, “bad guy” proved to be anything but “bad” as it claimed the charts in 2019, but that 21-year-old has a different opinion.

In a recent interview alongside her brother FINNEAS, on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, the 21-year-old stated the song is the “stupidest song in the world.”

“Objectively, ‘bad guy’ is like the stupidest song in the world, but it’s really good,” she shared. “It’s just like you have to understand, you have to have humor in it. Like, [on] that song I’m trolling. That song is supposed to be goofy, but it’s just funny because it’s dumb. It’s literally, like, ‘Duh.’ Like, what does that mean?”

Eilish’s music has come a long way since 2019, continuing to keep her in the spotlight. While she may not think as highly of her earlier music, the Los Angeles native says she can still appreciate it.

“I feel like we’re both fans of what we make,” she shared referring to herself and frequent collaborator/brother, FINNEAS. “I love my own music and it definitely changes and morphs with me. I still cringe, but I appreciate it.”

During a recent Audacy Check In, Eilish talked more about the current stage she is at musically as she is focusing on finishing a new record.

“I feel really good about where the music is right now and how I like it and that’s important to me,” she expressed. “With this album specifically, its the kind of thing where… if somebody asked us for whatever reason to make something that no one’s ever gonna hear and we only like it and it doesn’t matter what everybody thinks because we’re the only ones that are going to hear it… We would be making the same album.”

While Billie has not revealed a release date for the forthcoming project, she did share it is in the works and closer “to the end stages.”
