The 28-year-old 1D member took to socials to thank fans for their support with a sweet message and throwback video.

“Ten years since our first album Up All Night,” Payne wrote. “Thanks for supporting this dream for over a decade… #10YearsOfUpAllNight.”

The thank you collected 3.5 million likes in only four hours, a strong showing for the group, who is currently on hiatus.

“Best 10 years of my life tbh,” one fan commented on the post.

A number of still-dedicated 1D fans in the comments admitted they got overly excited thinking the it was an announcement for a highly-anticipated reunion.

“I almost had a heart attack and then I read the caption,” admitted one fan.

“My heart just skipped a beat thinking it's something related to reunion,” said another.

One Direction originally formed in 2010 with five members; Niall Horan, Zayn Malik, Liam Payne, Louis Tomlinson and Harry Styles. In 2015, Malik revealed his departure from the group for a solo career, breaking the hearts of fans all over the world.

While the remaining group members have all been exploring their own successful, solo careers, fans clearly haven’t given up hope for an epic reunion.
