Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger who got a week off, along with a handful of other starters, says he feels a lot better thanks to the rest.
Talking to reporters on Wednesday in a noticeably good and comfortable mood, Roethlisberger said he “feels it, 100 percent.”
“My legs feel a lot better, my knees feel fresher, I haven’t thrown a football other than throwing it in the house with (my kids),” said Roethlisberger.
While he says he has enjoyed his time off to rest, he plans on practice more than he normally does on a typical Wednesday, when he along with fellow veteran Maurkice Pouncey usually get the day off.
“I’m going to do more today, as a Wednesday is typically is kind of a day off, but today I’m doing to do more than half of practice I’m sure just to kind of get back into the groove of it.”
Roethlisberger did not travel to Cleveland with the Steelers and watched the game at home with his family.
“I enjoyed watching the game, not as much as playing in it .
. . I felt like my son asked me a question every single play so I felt like I was really extra engaged in it.”
Roethlisberger said knowing they could be playing the Browns in the playoffs he said he paid extra attention to the game.
While speaking, Big Ben also had a smile on his face most of the time and was joking around with staff off camera giving them a hard time as well as some reporters, a good sign that he is loose, rested and ready to go on Sunday night against the Browns.
