Ebe-Boomer Scrooge?
Thursday was the final Boomer & Gio show of 2020 with both hosts (Jerry is in for Booms next week), and the Boom-pa revealed just how far he would go to keep son-in-law Matt Martin out of a Philadelphia Flyers sweater.
“You know, the CEO of Entercom, David Field, is a huge Flyers fan,” Boomer said. “I think he holds it against me!”
“We had one interaction, and I think he heard me say that Flyers fans are total animals, and sort of subhuman,” Gio chimed in, “and he kind of made reference to it. Flyers fans as a whole are Neanderthals.”
Entercom’s headquarters are in Philly, not far from the stadium complex, so they know what’s happening.
“When I was going off about Matt not going to Philly, he must have heard it, and he got back to me and said, ‘we’d love to have him in Philly, I may call him myself,’” Boomer said.
“You would force Matt to retire before he did that, right?” Gio asked, and that’s when Boom-pa dropped the Boom-bomb.
“If that happened…sometimes you have to make sacrifices for your family, so I would just kidnap the baby and move!”
