John Jastremski was 3-2 last week making his picks, and this week, he’s trying to make up ground on Harris Allen (and keep ahead of Michael Fliegelman) by BREAKING THE RULES!
First, the current standings:
The Maestro: 35-29-2
JJ: 31-33-1
Fleegs: 30-33-2
Hoff: 5-3 in limited duty
And now, JJ’s Unlocks for Week 14!
Indianapolis (-3) at Las Vegas: “Did anyone see Vegas last week against the Jets? Easily a game they should have lost. I don’t buy the notion that the juju beating the Jets will carry over, and Indy has been pretty darn good against the number on the road against winning teams – 10-3 in their last 13. I don’t buy the Raiders’ defense, and I’m going back to the well.”
Tampa Bay (-6.5) vs. Minnesota: “The fact the line hasn’t moved is the only thing giving me pause here. The Vikings defense is nothing to write home about, and they should have lost to the Jaguars last week. Tampa Bay is coming off a bye, and has played a tough schedule – I think this is a breakout game for them.”
Seattle (-14) vs. NY Jets: “I am breaking one of the rules of the manifest! I normally never lay double digits, but I’m doing it here, because it’s a brutal spot for the Jets. They’re beat up, they’re going cross-country, and Seattle is coming off a terrible performance against the Giants. Seattle needs a get right spot, and this is the perfect team to do it against. I feel frisky enough to lay 14.”
Pittsburgh (+1.5) at Buffalo: “We’ve been hinting at the overreaction line of the week, and I think this is it. I’m picking against the Bills again, because this line makes no sense. Buffalo should not be favored, and I like the fact that Pittsburgh is coming off two subpar performances. I think you’re going to see them step up in a big way. Steelers are a better team, so I’m taking the points.”
Miami (+7) vs. Kansas City: “Maybe this is a little bit of a homer pick, but YOLO baby. In this spot, considering they’re 9-3 against the spread, I’m taking Miami to keep it close. I’m betting against the best team in football, but Miami has players in the secondary and a pass rush. You saw Tua light it up in the second half last week, and that’s what they’re going to need. I ultimately think Kansas City wins, but seven points is too many.”
Fleegs’ Picks:
Tampa Bay (-6.5) vs. Minnesota
Indianapolis (-3) at Las Vegas
Seattle (-14) vs. NY Jets
NY Giants (+2.5) vs. Arizona
Houston (-1.5) at Chicago
Harris’ Picks:
Indianapolis (-3) at Las Vegas
Green Bay (-7.5) at Detroit
New Orleans (-7) at Philadelphia
Cleveland (+2) vs. Baltimore
Kansas City (-7) at Miami
Hoff’s Picks:
Seattle (-14) vs. NY Jets
Green Bay (-7.5) at Detroit
Indianapolis (-3) at Las Vegas
San Francisco (-3) vs. Washington
Houston (-1.5) at Chicago
