Look here, Gio – because you got some fake news, brother! After a big 4-1 week (combined with a rough one for the Maestro), JJ is finally over .500, and just a game and a half back of Harris Allen in the Unlocks of the Week race!
This week, we have Paul Rosenberg in but no Fleegs or Hoff, so we have some proxy picks from JJ, who’s taking a couple of doggy hooks and fading some winners while he’s at it, and the return of randomness from Rosey!
First, the current standings (last week in parenthesis):
The Maestro: 36-32-2 (1-4)
JJ: 35-34-1 (4-1)
Fleegs: 33-35-2 (3-2)
Hoff: 7-6 in limited duty (2-3)
Rosey: 13-17 in limited duty (N/A)
And now, JJ’s Unlocks for Week 15!
Houston (+7.5) at Indianapolis: “I feel dirty going against a team that has been good to me, but I like Houston here. The first matchup came down to the wire, and if it wasn’t for a fumble, Houston might have won outright. I know they played poorly against Chicago last week, but the Texans could catch Indianapolis napping here. I think Houston finds a way to keep it tight.”
Carolina (+8.5) at Green Bay: “I gave this out on Odds on Sports, but I love the Carolina Panthers. I know you say Green Bay’s offense is unstoppable, but I also believe the Panthers will compete, and they have been very good as road dogs. Teddy Bridgewater finds a way to cover when he’s a road dog.”
Minnesota (-3) vs. Chicago: “The Bears are not any good. I’m a little concerned with the way the line has moved in some places, but when in doubt, fade Mitchell Trubisky – especially off a win! The Vikings are a better team, and if they had a decent kicker, they may have covered or won against Tampa.”
Arizona (-6.5) vs. Philadelphia: “I look at the Eagles this week as the square dog of the week. Everybody’s looking to hop on board after Jalen Hurts beat New Orleans, but did you see what Arizona did to the Giants? I think this will be a welcome to the NFL moment for Jalen Hurts. This line hasn’t moved at all and is split, so I’m going with the better team.”
New Orleans (+3) vs. Kansas City: “I faded Patrick Mahomes last week, and I’m doing it again. New Orleans is coming off a stinker. I know they won’t have Michael Thomas, and that hurts, but Drew Brees is back, and they’re hitting at a 60 percent clip. KC is going to lose eventually, and this is a good spot for it. I’m taking the points, but give me the money line too while we’re at it!”
