Lions RB D'Andre Swift cleared concussion protocol last week, but he still isn't back to full health.

He was limited at Wednesday's practice due to the illness that kept him out of last Sunday's win over the Bears.

Asked Wednesday prior to practice how Swift is feeling, interim head coach Darrell Bevell said, "He’s continued to improve each and every day, so we’re excited to see him out there today. And like I told you, we’re trying to monitor how that goes and then see the next day. But so far, so good."

Swift, who hasn't played since Detroit's Week 10 win over Washington in which he put up 149 total yards and a touchdown, cleared concussion protocol midway through last week, but missed Thursday and Friday due to a non-COVID-19-related illness, before being ruled out on Sunday.

Bevell said the Lions are "still just trying to ramp him up from what he was going through," more than knock off the rust.

"It’s important for us to kind of get him up to speed," he said. "When you take that much time off and you’re not out there running around full speed, you don’t want to give him full-go and then have him have a soft tissue injury or anything. Kind of want to work him back in as well, but I would say (it's more about) the illness.”

Center Frank Ragnow said Swift looked good at Wednesday's practice.

"He always looks good. He's a talented running back and it was great to have him in the huddle," Ragnow said.

Swift wasn't the only running back limited at Wednesday's practice. Kerryon Johnson was also limited because of a knee injury, a concerning development considering he missed 14 games due to knee problems his first two seasons.

"He’s a veteran player, so we’ll continue to monitor him during the week," Bevell said. "On Wednesday, we’re usually a little bit lighter and then kind of ramp him up as the week goes. We’ll continue to do that, and there’s really no change in his status.”

And then there's Kenny Golladay, who was unable to practice due to the hip injury that has sidelined him for the past five games. With four games to play, there's a growing possibility that Golladay could be done for the season.

Also sidelined on Wednesday were CB Jeff Okudah (shoulder), OT Tyrell Crosby (ankle) and S C.J. Moore (ankle).
