FOX really screwed up on this one.
During Saturday’s broadcast between the New York Yankees and Boston Red Sox at Yankee Stadium, the FOX team transitioned to a commercial with an overhead shot of New York City peering over the Freedom Tower showing the Yankees and Red Sox logos in a graphic below it.

Yet, many were quick to notice that this shot was a major faux pas.
The graphic was superimposed over the National September 11 Memorial and Museum at the World Trade Center with the Yankees and Red Sox logos strategically placed within the reflecting ponds of where the Twin Towers once stood.
The shot did not go unnoticed on social media, which had many calling out FOX for being distasteful and ignorant by choosing to seemingly use the memorial site to promote the game.
Whether someone just did not know what they were doing or thought this would be fine, it was not a good look for the network and an error somebody should have noticed before going to air with it.
