Bob Melvin could be on his way back to The Bay. The Giants have requested and received permission to interview the Padres skipper for their managerial vacancy according to reporting from Dennis Lin and Andrew Baggarly of The Athletic.
Lin and Baggarly wrote, “Melvin has emerged as the favorite in San Francisco, with league sources indicating that he received assurances he would be a top candidate before he agreed to participate in the interview process."
