In today’s age of Instagram and parenting, it’s become commonplace for kiddos to take pictures on their front door for their first day of school with a chalk signboard illustrating their grade, age, interests, etc.

Well, Sergio Romo is ready for his last day of school.

The 40-year-old reliever is set to get a hero’s send-off Monday evening at Oracle Park and make one last ceremonial appearance on the mound before heading off into retirement. Check out his grade-school inspired photo from his Instagram.

Gotta love the youthful enthusiasm from Romo.

In his 15-year career, which included a nine-year stint with San Francisco at the start, Romo was known for his fun-loving nature. He’s got three titles and a sweeping slider, but also an 80-grade smile.

Romo also spent the 2021 season with Oakland, so he’ll get to say farewell to two of the eight organizations he played with throughout his career.

We can only hope that Buster Posey will be in attendance Monday, so we can get one last Buster Hug for the road.
