The 49ers will get Christian McCaffrey back this weekend, assuming nothing acts up on their flight to Tampa Bay. That was the word from Kyle Shanahan Friday afternoon.
Shanahan didn't specify much about McCaffrey's workload other than to say he "had a good week."
Here's the full game status report for the 49ers:
OUT
CB Mooney Ward (personal)
DT Kevin Givens (groin)
WR Chris Conley (hamstring)
DE Yetur Gross-Matos (knee-IR return)
QUESTIONABLE
DE Nick Bosa (hip)
RB Christian McCaffrey (Achilles-IR return)
OL Jon Feliciano (knee-IR return)
WR Deebo Samuel (rib, oblique)
S Malik Mustapha (calf)
Shanahan said that Feliciano is "probably not" going to return this week.
As for Bosa, there is some concern. He jogged off the practice field and into the locker room Thursday at the early portion open to media.
“I am [concerned] to a degree," Shanahan said. "He wasn't able to do a lot. He definitely was extremely limited. Hoping he'll be alright, but we'll see on Sunday.”
There is also a real possibility that Tashaun Gipson Sr. could be involved. He was signed to the practice squad this week and with Malik Mustapha questionable, Shanahan said they could use Gipson, who "looks good enough to do it" if needed.
The Buccaneers, meanwhile, will be without Mike Evans (hamstring), as expected. They have five players questionable:
LS Evan Deckers (hamstring), DT Greg Gaines (calf), WR Jalen McMillan (hamstring), S Tykee Smith (knee), S Jordan Whitehead (quad). Whitehead and McMillan are game-time decisions.
