49ers hold off Buccaneers 27-14 to improve to 7-3 thanks to 3 TD game for Purdy, perfect passer rating


Brandon Aiyuk had a career high 156 receiving yards on 5 catches with a touchdown and Brock Purdy completed 21-of-25 for 333 yards and 3 touchdowns and a perfect 158.3 passer rating as the 49ers beat Tampa Bay 27-14 at Levi's Stadium Sunday afternoon. San Francisco forced two timely turnovers, one in each half, with the Buccaneers driving to help salt away the win.

Christian McCaffrey started the scoring for San Francisco with this 4-yard touchdown catch from Brock Purdy to put the 49ers up 7-0.

Brandon Aiyuk got into the act with the 49ers leading 10-7.

The 49ers added a field goal just before halftime for a 13-7 lead and then came out and dialed up a big ball to Aiyuk for a touchdown on their first possession of the third quarter.

The play of the day from the 49ers defense came on the Buccaneers second offensive possession when Fred Warner forced this fumble as Tampa Bay was driving for the tie.

Arik Armstead added a sack and George Kittle caught a touchdown pass late in the third quarter as the 49ers built a 27-7 lead.

The 49ers put the game on ice with just under four minutes remaining on a Ji'Ayir Brown interception with Tampa Bay driving to make it a one score game.
