Those weeks of rest did the 49ers well. It's nearly all systems go for the San Francisco's Divisional Round matchup with the Green Bay Packers.
According to Kyle Shanahan, the 49ers' only absence for Saturday's matchup is starting defensive end Clelin Ferrell, who sustained a knee injury in the season finale. Ferrell could have a chance to return later in the playoffs.
Here's the 49ers' game status report:
OUT
- DE Clelin Ferrell (knee)
Questionable
- LB Dre Greenlaw (Achilles tendonitis)
The Packers, meanwhile, have a few more question marks. Their most notable name is star corner Jaire Alexander, who did not practice Thursday. Alexander was questionable going into last weekend, too.
Defensive coordinator Joe Barry said Alexander is “A little bit further ahead this week than he was last week,” which would mean he's likely to play, if accurate.
Here's the Packers' game status report:
OUT
- DT Kingsley Enagbare (torn ACL)
Limited
- CB Jaire Alexander (shoulder, ankle)
- RB A.J. Dillon (thumb, neck)
- LB Isaiah McDuffie (neck)
- P Daniel Whelan (illness)
Packers head coach Matt LaFleur said that he expects Whelan to play, but that rookie kicker Anders Carlson is the Packers' emergency punter.
