Anthony Slater breaks down how Warriors can fix 'log jam' in front court

The Warriors are hanging around, right at the .500 mark. That leaves questions. They are neither dominant nor dreadful, but the early-season highs have given way to a spate of injuries and increasingly uneven performances.

With that as a backdrop, and a Wednesday night matchup with the Kings coming up, Anthony Slater of The Athletic joined the Morning Roast to discuss where the team is at with the trade deadline coming closer.

Slater was asked how the Warriors can fix their front court log jam at the power forward position.

"As far as the log jam, which it is a log jam, and it has been, it has been before Moses Moody started getting minutes at the four," Slater said. "So to me, the way you break up this logjam, is you get a stretch five. This roster is clearly lacking a stretch five. It's something that they've at least acknowledged behind the scenes for a while now, but they haven't remedied it. But if you remedy it and get a stretch five, a legitimate stretch five, a guy that'll hit a good percentage of threes, shoots them a lot. Obviously, [Nikola] Vucevic is a name we've discussed. But to me, that allows you to play a lot more various combinations, where you suddenly don't have to just pigeonhole everyone into the four."

Slater continued to break down how the Warriors front office is looking at the roster, and what moves he thinks could be available to them.
