Jimmy Garoppolo is finally back on the practice field with his teammates.
For the past few weeks, Jimmy G had been estranged from the 49ers while his agents tried to find a trade partner. Earlier this week, the 49ers and Garoppolo agreed to restructure the final year remaining on his deal so he could return to backup Trey Lance.
Garoppolo had been spotted working on side fields or lifting weights while the 49ers practiced, but he finally put on that No. 10 jersey and was taking reps alongside Lance again. Check out some footage from Thursday’s practice in Santa Clara:

This is the new normal for the Niners.
Despite all the outside questions surrounding the decision, 49ers coach Kyle Shanahan is confident the two quarterbacks will be able to handle the situation.
“I don't think that affected us last year in that case,” Shanahan said earlier this week. “And I think we persevered through a lot of stuff and just tried to do what was best on the field. And I don't see any difference this year. We feel very strongly giving the keys to Trey.”
Week 1 is just 10 days away, as the 49ers will open the season at the Chicago Bears.
