George Kittle will have to pay up for his tribute to the decades long 49ers/Cowboys rivalry.
Kittle was fined $13,699 according to Jeremy Fowler of ESPN, for what the league called "use of abusive language" on the shirt he wore and flashed after scoring one of his three touchdowns against the Cowboys on Sunday night.
The shirt was an homage to former 49ers linebacker Gary Plummer, who wore a similar one at the height of the 49ers/Cowboys rivalry during the 1994 season when the teams faced each other in the NFC Championship game for a third consecutive year, as Jennifer Lee Chan of NBC Sports Bay Area noted below.
