The honors keep coming for the 49ers off of their 4-0 start. Running back Christian McCaffrey was named NFC Offensive Player of the Week for his four touchdown performance in San Francisco’s 35-16 win over the Cardinals in Week 4. McCaffrey piled up 177 scrimmage yards (106 rushing, 71 receiving) and scored four touchdowns, both NFL highs for this weeks action.
McCaffery’s highlight play was hurdling Cardinals rookie cornerback Kei’Trel Clark for his second touchdown of the afternoon.
This is the second Player of the Week acknowledgment of McCaffrey’s career. He also won the award in his first start with the 49ers last October with a three touchdown (1 rushing, 1 receiving, 1 passing) game against the Rams that started the 49ers current 14 game regular season winning streak.
CMC is the second 49ers offensive player to earn the nod in four weeks this season with Brandon Aiyuk winning it Week 1 at Pittsburgh when he had eight catches for 129 yards and two touchdowns.
