Shanahan on confidence level in Wilks as defense struggles again

49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan was asked about his confidence level in defensive coordinator Steve Wilks after the team's defense allowed 400 total yards and 29 first downs in the loss to the Bengals.

Shanahan chose a more diplomatic approach on Sunday after so much of the discussion during the week leading up to the game surrounded Wilks zero blitz call that allowed what proved to be the game-winning touchdown for the Vikings last Monday night.

The 49ers have two weeks until their next game to fix what has gone from a dominant defense to one without a pass rush, that is getting pushed around in the running game and has wide open space for opposing receivers in the middle of the field. In other words, the pressure on Wilks isn't going away anytime soon,
