The 56-game NHL schedule will include 26 sets of games where the Penguins will be playing the same opponent in the same venue twice. Most of those games are separated by a day off, however there are 6 times where the sets of games are on consecutive days.
The longest road trip starts April 1st through the 11th and they will have five, four-game home stands this season.
Pens will play all 56 games against the newly formed East Division, which not only includes the Flyers and Caps, but Boston, Buffalo, the Rangers, Islanders and New Jersey. There will be no games against the West, defending Stanley Cup champion Tampa Bay, Detroit or even against budding Metro rival Columbus.
Training camp opens January 3 in Cranberry, game times and the TV broadcast schedule will be announced later.
