The Atlanta Hawks moved to 3-0 with a 128-120 win Monday night over the Detroit Pistons and the undefeated start to the season has some thinking big things for the team.
While the Hawks haven't faced the toughest opponents this season (wins over the Bulls, Grizzlies, and Pistons), two of the games were on the road, and only the season opener was fully in doubt in the fourth quarter.
Understanding the strength of the opponents and the upcoming schedule, Hawks GM Travis Schlenk tried to help temper the expectations on the Hawks fast start.
"Collectively, our execution, we're still learning each other," cautions Schlenk. "Defensively having each others backs, you can never work too much on execution and you always come to a point in the season when you play better teams."
That last point Schlenk refers to, playing better teams begins on Wednesday as the Hawks will face Kevin Durant, Kyrie Irving, and the Brooklyn Nets in back-to-back games.
