On the third and final day of the Georgia High School Association football state championships, the Class 3A, 5A and 7A titles would be claimed as the 2020 season would come to an end. In Class 3A, Pierce County and Oconee County would need an overtime period to decide the winner of their match up, which would be the lowest scoring championship game this week. The game would be a defensive battle as neither team would manage to score until the fourth when Oconee County’s Jake Johnson would come up with a touchdown catch with 10:10 to go in the fourth quarter. Pierce County would respond almost three minutes later after a Jermaine Brewton rushing touchdown and an extra point later the game would be tied 7-7 and eventually go into overtime.
Oconee would have the first crack at scoring but Daytin Baker would intercept a Warriors pass and on the ensuing possession, the Bears’ Quavien Bell would score on a rushing touchdown to give Pierce County the win and the GHSA 3A state title, their first championship in program history.

In the 5A match up, the Warner Robins Demons and the Cartersville Hurricanes would go head to head in a match up of one loss teams.
Cartersville would strike immediately when Sam Phillips would return the opening kickoff 95 yards for a touchdown and the Canes would take a 7-0 lead.
Warner Robins would respond on the ensuing drive with an Ahmad Walker one yard rushing touchdown. The two teams would trade a couple more scores but the turning point would be when the Warner Robins defense would pick off Cartersville’s Carlos Del Rio Wilson pass setting up a touchdown throw from Jalen Addie, who would finish with six touchdowns (3 pass, 3 rush), to Kaleb Howard and that would give Warner Robins a 21-14 lead. Addie would later rush for two more touchdowns to put the Demons up 35-14 which would be the score at the half. In the start of the third quarter, Warner Robins would pick up another rushing touchdown to go up 42-14, which would prove to be too much of a deficit for the Hurricanes to overcome as Warner Robins would go on to win by a final of 62-28 and claim the 2020 GHSA 5A state title, their first since 2004.

In the nightcap, the Grayson Rams and the Collins Hill Eagles would meet up for the second time this season in the GHSA 7A championship game. The Rams, led by transfer and Miami Hurricanes signee, Jake Garcia would come out and dominate from early in the first quarter. The Rams first score would come about 1:30 into the opening quarter when Garcia would find Jamal Haynes in the end zone for a touchdown and Grayson would take a 7-0 lead. The Rams’ second score of the game would come with about 1:40 to go in the opening period when Jayvian Allen would take a direct snap out of the wildcat and rush for the score as Grayson would go up 14-0. Allen would score two more time in the first half and Garcia would throw his second touchdown of the game as well and the Rams would take a 35-0 lead into the locker room at the half. The Eagles would finally get on the board in the third quarter thanks to two Sam Horn touchdown passes and Collins Hill would trail 38-14 with 2:30 to go in the third quarter, but just as in the 5A championship game, the 24 point deficit would be too much for the Eagles to overcome and Grayson would win the GHSA 7A state title, their first since 2016 and third since 2011.
