It’s one of the final lines in the 1991 cult classic “Necessary Roughness,” where, as Scott Bakula and company celebrate the Texas State Armadillos’ first win, the school President sits down next to the forlorn Dean who tried to sabotage the program’s reboot and gives him THE boot.
The most embarrassing way to be fired? Maybe, but on Tuesday, on their final show before Christmas, Craig Carton and Evan Roberts tried to come up with the most embarrassing, creative, or funny ways for the Jets to fire Adam Gase at the end of the season.
We’re partial to the guy who called in and said Bill Belichick should hand Gase a napkin in the Week 17 postgame handshake that says “you are no longer HC of the NYJ,” but a few callers had some other tremendous ideas.
