CINCINNATI (93.7 The Fan) – The worst team in the division beat the Steelers last night 27-17. Here is what Mike Tomlin and the players said after…

Head coach Mike Tomlin

“We have a lot of work to do.  We are not a good football group right now.  We understand the consequences that come with that.  We are working on a short week.  We have to be better than what we’ve been.”

On Ben Roethlisberger’s play

“It’s not injury related, it just wasn’t good enough like all of us, me included.  We have to be better.”

“We turned the ball over, I don’t know that it’s representative of the physicality discussion.  We turned the ball over and we can’t do that.”

“When you are behind in football games, they can run the quarterback on possession downs.  We have to start faster.  We can’t spot them.  I think that had a lot to do with the trajectory of the game in terms of how it unfolded.”

Ben Roethlisberger

“Their whole defense kept us off-balance.  I wasn’t good enough today.”

“I would say I’m not consistent enough which affects the offense because the ball is in my hand every play.”

“We’ll never stop believing in these guys and this team.  We’ll push forward.”

Cam Heyward

“We’re storming back in the third quarter, but I felt like we let them off the hook as a defense.  We are trying to ask our offense to do too much.”

“I’m a firm believer that things don’t change by just believing they will.  Our work has to reflect that.  We have to solve that in practice.  Whatever it takes.  We got to get to work and solve this and understand where we are falling short.  I know we’ve had some guys injured, but that’s not an excuse.  We have to get the job done.”

TJ Watt

“I feel confident with the guys in that locker room.  I see the way that they train.  The way we prepare week-in and week-out.  We have to dig deep.  We have to find out what is going on and we have to get better.”

Benny Snell

“I got all confidence, 100% all-in with Big Ben.  He knows what he’s doing.  He has the expereicne.  He’s been here before.  We are going to make a turnaround, my trust is in him.”
