As we head into College Football's Championship Weekend only two things are safe to say, and that's that Alabama and Notre Dame are already in.
The two teams the College Football Playoff Selection Committee ranked #1 and #2 still have games this weekend against #7 Florida and #3 Clemson, but the overwhelming feeling is that they are already in.
While most feel that Alabama should skate by Florida, there is a lot more uncertainty about how Notre Dame will fare against Clemson.
Of course Notre Dame has already beaten Clemson once this season, but the expectations are that things are different this time now that QB Trevor Lawrence is back.
The sports books seem to agree as Clemson is currently a 10.5 point favorite.
College Football News Insider Pete Fiutak addresses the idea that Notre Dame is pretty much already in
"As long as they don’t get annihilated like 41-3, keep it within two touchdowns, I kinda think they’re in,” says Fiutak. “Who’s that other team that’s going to be in? Texas A&M has a better case than people let on, but there’s zero appetite to see a rematch with Alabama.”
