Recent mock drafts had Alabama quarterback Mac Jones being the fourth overall pick to the Atlanta Falcons. While Jones had a stellar season at Alabama throwing to Heisman Trophy winner Devonte Smith and the other amazing wide receivers Alabama had playing in 2020, Jones is not a difference-maker on the field.
With the Falcons having the fourth-overall pick, Atlanta needs a playmaker and a player that could play right away. Jones isn't that player. He might develop into a serviceable quarterback in a few years, but not in 2021.
Emory Hunt from CBS Sports joined Nick Kayal and said if the Falcons do not take a quarterback at four, Terry Fontenot and Arthur Smith could look at Devonta Smith to add depth to an already outstanding wide receiver corps.
